Balls and Poles
If you read the description of the route by Jennifer from McHarty, you noticed that she mentions :
Most of the challenging spots on these trails involve steep traverses on unstable scree, route finding and creek crossings
Now granted we have been used to ranger bullshit in the lower 48, BUT OMG - understatement of the YEAR!!!!
The other quote, which I believe will remain the quote of this trip was also by Jenny in response to Art’s question of what would we need to cross the scree, any special quipemnet, etc?
You wont need any special equipment to cross the scree, just balls and poles
Let’s just say that the picture below, is definitely NOT us.
